1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ECM Digital handles information when you use the New Rays Digital Android application. New Rays Digital provides access to educational e-books and related learning content.

2. Information we collect and process

Account and profile information

Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

• Name.
• Email address.
• Phone number, if you choose to add or update it.
• Firebase user identifier associated with your account.
• Authentication information necessary to sign you in.

Sign-in information

New Rays Digital uses Google Firebase Authentication and may offer Google Sign-In. Authentication credentials are handled by the relevant authentication service. The New Rays Digital backend does not store your Google account password or Firebase password.

Locally stored app information

Limited account/session information may be stored on your device to keep you signed in and provide normal app functionality.

Technical and security information

Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical request information such as IP address, request time, and security/server logs when necessary to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the service.

3. How we use information

• To create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts.
• To display and update profile information.
• To provide access to subjects, e-books, and educational content.
• To support sign-in, sign-out, account recovery, support, and account deletion.
• To maintain service security, diagnose problems, and improve reliability.

4. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data may be processed by service providers used to operate New Rays Digital, including:

• Google Firebase Authentication / Google Sign-In for user authentication.
• MongoDB Atlas for storage of app profile and catalogue data.
• Vercel for hosting the New Rays Digital backend and public web pages.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

5. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including HTTPS network communication, managed authentication, access controls, protected backend credentials, and restricted administrative access. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Data retention and deletion

Account and profile information is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When account deletion is successfully completed through New Rays Digital, the Firebase Authentication account and the matching stored profile data in our application database are deleted.

Limited security, legal, or transaction records may be retained only where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Infrastructure providers may retain technical logs for limited periods under their own operational and security practices.

7. Your choices

• You may update supported profile information from the app.
• You may sign out at any time.
• You may request permanent deletion of your account and associated stored profile data.
• You may contact us with privacy questions or requests.

8. Children's privacy

New Rays Digital provides educational content that may be used by students. We do not use account information for personalized advertising. If a parent or guardian believes personal information has been provided in a way that requires correction or deletion under applicable law, please contact us using the privacy contact below.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our app, services, or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available at this URL and the “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.
